2nd Messinia Forum, organized by the Messinian Restaurant Association about tourism, gastronomy, entrepreneurship will be hosted in Kalamata.
The Messinian Restaurant Association is counting down to the 2nd MESSINIA FORUM at the Kalamata Ballroom on April 13 & 14 with a focus on Catering, Gastronomy, Tourism and Entrepreneurship, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, PED Peloponnese, KEDE, the Region Peloponnese, the 6 Municipalities of Messinia and the Chamber of Messinia.
With the support of interactive panels and working groups, 40 speakers will introduce interesting presentations of 7 thematic circles for the development of new alternative forms of tourism, informing the participants about significant matters of new digital challenges.
At the 2nd Messinia Forum, 50 local businesses of the primary sector will participate, presenting their products and at the same time holding B2B meetings with large food trading and distribution companies with the aim of promoting and using Messinian products in catering industry
Acclaimed chefs have been invited to highlight Messinian gastronomy with live cooking and menu proposals where products of the Messinian land will be the ultimate protagonists , in collaboration with local restaurants and hotels.
At the heart of the event will be the Messinian wine and vineyard with speeches and live wine tastings by renowned Sommeliers in a specially designed space that will host the stands of winemakers and distillers.
For the first time, 25 businesses from the Prefecture of Messinia, which are active in alternative tourism, will give a resounding presence at the 2nd Messinia Forum by setting up a large and unified stand in the outer area of the Ballroom in Kalamata. Aiming to highlight Messinia as an alternative, thematic destination all year round, they will announce the creation of an online platform where the visitor will be able to be informed easily and swiftly about all thematic tourism options (visitable wineries and olive mills, water sports, trails, kayaking, hiking etc.).
Among the attendees, will be the Αrchbishop of Messinia, Mr. Chrysostomos, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ms. Elena Rapti, the University representatives, Mr. Dimitris Bouchalis, Ms. Evi Christofilopoulou, Mr. Sotiris Varelas, Ms. Konstantina Kottaridis, among others, who will meet and discuss about tourism, catering and entrepreneurship subjects , the athletes Mr. Michalis Zambidis, Mr. Albertis Frangiskos, Chefs Mr. Lefteris Lazarou, Ms. Dina Nikolaou, Ms. Eleni Psychouli, Mr. Iakovos Apergis and many renowned entrepreneurs in the field of catering, hospitality and entrepreneurship both on a local and nationwide level.
The springboard for the continuation of the effort of the 2nd Messinia Forum, is the substantial impact of the 1st MESSINIA FORUM. According to last year’s figures, more than 4,000 visitors from the catering, tourism, agri-food and wider local entrepreneurship sectors took part, with the participation of more than 40 renowned speakers, 120 local businesses in the primary sector with a presentation of their products.
Driven by the vision of the evolution and development of Kalamata and Messinia, according to the requirements of the modern era, the members of the Messinia Restaurant Association (SEM) group aim to develop the restaurant and the tourist product, with respect for people and the environment , the strengthening of the extroversion of the sector as well as related businesses, the encouragement and strengthening of local entrepreneurship, through the development of synergies, partnerships and the exchange of good practices as well as the introduction of new technologies and innovations.
The MESSINIA FORUM is a stable point of reference for Messinia, contributing to the creation of conditions and dynamics for sustainable economic and touristic development.
