The dairy and livestock unit of Nikolaos Pittaras is located in a semi-mountainous area, just 1 km from Melanes in Naxos, surrounded by traditional dry-stone walls that define small family-owned olive groves and orchards. The region is characterized by a rugged, hilly landscape, rocky soil, and a Mediterranean climate with mild winters, cool summers, and the Aegean breeze that provides natural ventilation for the livestock facilities. Animal breeding and milk production are carried out with respect for both people and the environment.

Pittaras Dairy is a family-run business deeply rooted in Cycladic cheese-making tradition. Since 1984, it has been producing authentic, high-quality dairy products using exclusively local goat, sheep, and cow milk from selected farms across the island.
