Wine tasting in Athens takes center stage at the EMST(National Museum of Contemporary Art Athens), through a special Moschofilero-focused experience that brings the terroir of Mantineia to the heart of the city.
The “Moschofilero Walking to the Top” is a high-aesthetic wine tasting event by The Mantinians, the association of winemakers from Mantineia, in collaboration with Wine Style, hosted at NYN ESTI, on the rooftop of EMST, as part of the Athens City Festival by the City of Athens.
Wine tasting Athens experience dedicated to Moschofilero
The event is a walk around wine tasting in Athens, exclusively dedicated to the emblematic white grape variety Moschofilero, one of Greece’s most distinctive PDO wines.
Sixteen wineries from the Mantineia wine region come together to present different expressions of Moschofilero, offering professionals and wine lovers a sensory journey through aromas, textures, and styles.
Beyond tasting, the event opens a dialogue around the shared vision of The Mantinians and the future of Mantineia wine identity.
EMST Athens rooftop experience
On Tuesday, 26 May 2026, from 15:00 to 19:00, the event opens its doors to the public with free admission.
Visitors will experience a unique wine tasting Athens event at EMST, discovering Moschofilero wines while engaging directly with producers in one of the most iconic contemporary cultural venues in Athens.
The rooftop setting of NYN ESTI at EMST Athens offers a panoramic cultural and sensory experience, connecting contemporary art, gastronomy, and wine culture.
The Mantinians: Moschofilero and the identity of Mantineia
The Mantinians are a non-profit association of winemakers from Mantineia, established in October 2024 with the aim of strengthening and upgrading the image of PDO Mantineia wines, promoting the wine tourism identity of the region, and highlighting the cultural heritage associated with the vine and wine.
At the same time, they seek to participate in shaping institutional and sectoral frameworks related to the wine industry, as well as to promote the wines of Mantineia in Greece and internationally. The core and ongoing mission of the association remains the support of the vine growers, winemakers, and wineries of the PDO Mantineia zone.
