Cooperative Winery of Nemea is one of the largest wine producers of Greece and the epicenter’s manufacture of the widely known Nemean wines.
In the heart of the Peloponnese, lies Nemea with a historical reputation. Known in ancient times as Fliasion Pedion( from Fleiounta) and later as Agios Georgios, from the Byzantine church.
Its diversel and fertile soil, ideal for viticulture, with its primary variety being Agiorgitiko, make it one of the most important wine-producing regions of Greece.
Tens of hundreds wineproducers cultivate the famous variety to then produce the exceptional red wines known on a worldwide level.
Famous festival with various events is: “The great days of Nemea” where at the beginning of each September, you can visit the area and try the labels of all wineries!
Cooperative winery of Nemea, at the very center of the region, and with members of over 500 cultivators, is today the pioneer of the effort to highlight the fruits of this blessed place.

Cooperative Winery of Nemea was founded in 1937.
Nowadays, it has more than 450 partners and utilizes 12.500 acres of Agiorgitiko producing 10.000 tones of grapes annually, a fact that makes it as one of the largest producers of Greece.
In privately owned facilities of 33.000 sqm, Cooperative Winery of Nemea acquires all necessary accreditations according to ISO & HACCP.
With 8000 tones of covered Inox tanks and with a production capacity of 6.500.000 bottles of 0,75 cents per year and 3.000.000 bag in box respectively, belongs to the top ten wine suppliers nationwide.
Its primary goal is the preservation of the tradition and the spread of Agiorgitiko, the oldest wine variety, which is an integral part of the cultural heritage of the region.
It utlizes the deep knowledge, its vast experience and the creativity of its members and executives. It constantly offers new products focusing both on quality and delivery.

Presently, however, the consumer can also find whites from Rhoditis, Savvatiano or Moschofilero with packages addressing to all distribution channels, from HORECA to retail chains, both in Greece and abroad, since they are translated into many foreign languages.

Wine-tourism activities, Tastings & Other Events
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, visits & wine tastings have been suspended until further notice
Visits to Cooperative Winery of Nemea can be arranged by appointment.
For school groups and Open Care Centers for the Elderly the entrance is FREE.
There is a symbolic charge of 4,00 Euros per person for wine tastings.
Large groups can be hosted for events combined with catering facilities and musical events.
