Crete aquarium
Cretaquarium – Thalassocosmos officially started its operation in December 2005, in the region of Gournes in Crete, Greece, 15 km east at the city of Heraklion. In a location that is an idiosyncratic research, education, culture and recreation park, which purpose is to promote and disseminate knowledge about the oceanic environment.
CretΑquarium is an expert in presenting species and ecosystems of the Mediterranean, a sea of unique biodiversity that gave birth to ancient civilizations and welcomes millions of visitors every year from all over the world. Offering 61 tanks of different sizes, containing a total amount of 1.800.000 litres of sea water, it is home to 2000 sea animals, 200 different species found in the Mediterranean basin, and together with the appropriate scenery, it successfully represents the Cretan and Mediterranean sea beds. Additionally, CretAquarium designs and implements educational programmes and other innovative services, treats injured animals and is constantly enriched with new marine species.

Rhodes aquarium
A stroll along the seaside pedestrian walk, in the city of Rhodes, leads to the northernmost edge of the island. This is where the Hydrobiological Station of Rhodes-Aquarium is located. Housed in a building of distinctive architectural style, the Aquarium is the most exemplary place for those wishing to get acquainted with the marine wealth of the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean sea.
The Aquarium of Rhodes is located at the northern edge of Rhodes, just a few steps from the city center. The Hydrobiological Station of Rhodes is one of the important centres of marine research in Greece and is housed in a historic building dating from 1935.
Designed by Armando Bernabiti, the building combines local with Art Deco architectural elements of curved lines and circular windows, along with a dominant cylindrical tower. The decoration of the main entrance was inspired from the marine environment. The Aquarium consists of a corridor, with small tanks that introduce marine species and it is made of stone and decorated with natural shells, featuring an underwater cave, while the floor is paved by white and black pebbles, accenting marine species.

Kastoria Aquarium
The aquarium of Kastoria is an innovative space that houses fish and other freshwater organisms of Greece, indigenous, endemic and foreign. It is the largest aquarium in the Balkans, and in recent years has become an important attraction for city visitors, school trips and travellers.
The aquarium was inaugurated by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, and for this reason it bears his name.
Most of the fish you will look on at the aquarium are those that have been living for years in the internal waters of Greece, but there are also a large number of foreign species that dwell in the lakes and rivers of our country.
Consisting of 49 tanks with a capacity of 1 to 1.6 cubic meters, there is a beautiful simulation of Kastoria Lake and a simulation of the Aliakmonas River.
Large quantities of carp, pike, flounder, perch, and walleye are found, which are endemic fish of Lake Kastoria.
