Drink pairing with Cretan Tsikoudia is a seminar with co-organisers Byraki Flavor and Technical Schools of Chamber at Heraklion.

Drink Pairing, a unique experience, which syndicates the traditional Cretan spirit, tsikoudia, with carefully selected liqueurs and food, is an exhilarating journey through both flavors and culture of Crete.

It comprises tasting of Cretan tsikoudia and four (4) different flavors of liqueur, blended with fine bites of Cretan gastronomy.

The program is addressed to a wide audience, including producers of wine and spirits, oenologists, winemakers, distillers, owners,  shops and hotels staff members peddling alcoholic beverages, owners and personnel of distilleries, visitors of Crete who wish to make an acquaintance with gastronomy coupled with Cretan Drinks, Chefs, bartenders and others inclined to the art of mixing drinks.

During the Drink Pairing with Cretan Tsikoudia course, trainees will learn about the various categories of spirits with added flavors and aging, along with alternate consumption methods, including drink pairing, cocktails, cooking and pastry.

Participants will familiarise with the several ways to savour tsikoudia with traditional Cretan recipes and explore its combinations alongside local liqueurs and delicacies.

Through the Drink Pairing-Cretan Tsikoudia program, participants will gain a deeper understanding of Cretan gastronomy and culture and uncover ways to highlight the flavors of local products. 

They will also gain knowledge about the history and production of Cretan tsikoudia, one of the most popular spirits in Greece, and learn how to serve it in the most appropriate way to bring out its flavor.
